As a marketer and a developer, I understand that performance is paramount to user experience and I work very diligently on application performance. During development time, I constantly use tools such as Grunt/Gulp to concatenate, test, minify and obfuscate all my JavaScript and CSS files; even those including in plugins. I optimize the http headers through the use of .htaccess or httpd.conf files, depending on the hosting environment. The use of frameworks on WordPress such as Genesis, W3 Total Cache, WP Smush and others to minify HTML pages, images, partial cache rendering and dynamic bidirectional connections with content delivery networks. Also, I used for this project a CDN proxy called CloudFlare.

For the front-end of V & Q Construction, I used Foundation Zurb which allows for rapid development and cross-browser compatibility.

LMSEO is based on the concepts of Progressive Enhancement and Responsive design.
I utilized the concept of OOCSS to reduce unnecessarily duplicating styles and improve performance.
LMSEO currently runs on WordPress, WooCommerce and a custom theme based on the StoreFront Theme.

We were able to improve that traffic to close 150,000 organic visitors per month within 18 months. The nature of static pages, presented a number of problems that made migration to a content management system a top priority. eOpiates was then migrated to a custom content management system that I wrote while I was in college. A number of reasons to use a custom versus an open source content management system. eOpiates was planned to be converted into a social site which would require high performance, plus a number of custom applications and the ability to create complex taxonomies. Also, the website was planned to be integrated with the company’s customer relationship management (CRM) application.
